Just Because It’s Your Birthday!

It’s that time of year now…holiday cards are in the works but in the meantime there will be little shaker birthday cards =)

I made this card to look my nephew holding balloons and sending them off for someone’s birthday!

I love shaker cards and I can’t wait to order some more sequins from pretty pink posh!

Fuse in a little happiness!

Yes…yes..and yes! I finally got my hands on the awesome-super cool fuse tool! (project life edition)

I love how I can make all these mini shaker pockets and fill it with tons of sequins.

For this birthday card, I started from the bottom up and filled it with the same gold/silver shaker bits. I love how it turned out.

I stamped a few silver stars on the cardstock to give a background for the sequins.  My next project will be adding photographs to the pockets for a personalized touch.

I always say I won’t give into the new stamping hype but here I am a fan of the fuse tool! Thank you Becky Higgins for making it in white!

Birthday in Gold!

So here is a card where I finally “mastered” the gold foil applied to cardstock via heat technique…

I almost like it better with less gold foil believe it or not!

For this card, I added a few more elements including the die cut gold foil heart and banner with a gold staple. I actually used this card for a masculine birthday card and it was well loved by the recipient.  More gold foil coming this way!

Happy Spring Skunk!

I wanted to do a little throw back to this lawn fawn stamp set that was super popular a few years ago…

I made this into another shaker window card and used chalk inks to get that soft grass and sky background. It is a bit hard to see from the photos but I stamped “Birthday” on some vellum paper.

For some finishing touches I added white enamel dots to the border. Skunks are good for spring right??? lol.

Ringing in the New Year with Black and Gold!

Happy New Year! I am officially obsessed with all things gold and glittery…

I made a bunch of cards for the new year using some awesome Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder and fabulous stamps from Winnie & Walter.

I love how the gold glitters on the Vellum!

Makes me happy! Happy 2015!

We are in Disguise for your Birthday!

I have been trying to make cards with the gold thread in the background.  I have to admit it is hard just to let the thread go which ever way it wants to!  But I am really loving the messy look:

For this card, I wanted to make it sort of masculine so I thought it would be funny to add a little mustache to the little mama elephant critters!  I recommend using glue dots to keep the thread in place.

I kept the background colors simple and I think this card looks much better in real life!  Hope you are having a great week!

Shaking Chevron!

Here is one of my last cards using the chevron stencil and embossing paste!

I love this color combination and decided to make a little shaker card with this adorable baby giraffe!

Here is a closer look at the embossing paste after I added glitter.  Isn’t it just so beautiful? I love it!

Fun fact about giraffes: The age of a giraffe can be calculated from its spots. The darker the spots, the older the giraffe!

Blue Birds Smiling at Me…

I love this little bird.

I made another series of birthday cards which I like to call “How Many Fingers Are You” for all the Spring babies!  For this card, I used embossing paste and glitter to create the raised hearts and added some light blue bling and white enamel dots.

Happy May!

Worst Day Ever!

Funny right?

I’m making some funny sentiment cards after being inspired by a hilarious line of stamps!

I am loving how these project life cards are perfect for little sentiments!

Moustache Birthday!

Can a card be so cute you want to jump up and do a little dance?

That’s how I feel about this card! So I found these adorable little brads that make me smile when I use ’em.  I wish they had a little bow tie! That would be perfect.  So using my picture frame die cut I made three little polaroids for the brads.    It was very exciting because I used black pigment ink to emboss the happy birthday sentiment.  Can you see the texture?

I added some washi tape and sprayed the background with glitter and frost!  Must stock up on brads! It’s my new love!!!

Just Flip It!

I can’t tell you how much I am in love with these sizzix flip it dies!

I love them so much I had to buy the circle die cut version so that I could make even more cards! After taking this photo I added a few more details which I will update later but I had to share this little piece of joy!

Here’s the updated version – a friend requested a 50th birthday card and voila:

I just added an extra polka heart and the numbers 50 using grunge board and some distress ink.  And for those of you not familiar with the flip it dies – here is the inside of the card where you can write a message:
