Distress, Stencils & Scotties

I’m back to share a set of handmade cards I made as a thank you gift:

hello1

I used a variety of distress inks and rubbed them gently over a Heidi Swapp stencil.

I sprayed the cardstock with some shimmer spray, used glitter cardstock for the sentiments, and then some final touches of sequins.

My little scottie decided the help keep watch over the cards as they were drying.

Hope you are having a wonderful Easter weekend!

Swapp! I love it!

I am turning into a huge fan of Heidi Swapp’s color sprays! I got a few bottles this past weekend and I couldn’t wait to use them!

I tried the sprays with different stencils and got these results:

My favorite technique turned out to be just flicking the spray bottle onto the cardstock! And here is my card…

Hope you are having a great weekend!

You Can Never Have Too Many Thank You’s

I made a series of thank you cards that I will be sharing for all the acts of kindness that I am lucky to witness in my life.

For this series of  cards, I used this awesome chevron stencil from heidi swapp and my favorite color combo from Hero Arts shadow inks:

I love that this stencil can be used for inks and embossing pastes! I also tried a technique that I learned from Jennifer McGuire where you add layers of embossing powder to the sentiment.  I love the shiny look:

Remember to take the time to thank all the loved ones in your life!

Chickies in Glitter!

Must have been the Saving Mr. Banks movie that I watched which gave me a Mary Poppins inspiration for this card…

As you can see, I am still crazy about the embossing paste and glitter combo.  It looks so beautiful in real life!

For some finishing touches I sprayed the clouds with a glitter mist and gave the chickies nose a little glossy accents.
